Prospective Families
Welcome
Hello, and welcome to the East Lake School Community!
Here at East Lake Elementary School, we believe in the power of human energy and connection to bring about ongoing positive growth. Through our relentless commitment, an empathic approach, genuine positivity and strategic organization, we nourish the people and systems around us to ensure each learner thrives.
East Lake Elementary currently serves Kindergarten through grade 5 and officially opened its doors on Tuesday, September 5, 2017. East Lake Elementary is located in the southern portion of District 196 at the intersection of Diamond Path Road and 160th Street in Lakeville, MN. Large floor-to-ceiling window panels compliment the media center and instructional areas which provide natural lighting throughout the building.
The building has six learning neighborhoods designated for each of the grade levels (K-5). Each grade level neighborhood has a commons area allowing staff and students to extend their learning experiences outside of the classroom. Neighborhoods also provide multiple opportunities for collaboration within the grade level.
There is a specialist wing of the building that includes the gymnasium, band, music and an art room. A unique feature of the art room is the vaulted ceiling and glass panels that expand from the lower level to the main level allowing natural lighting into the classroom area. A small room for a kiln is connected to the art room. Over the past two years we have added a vibrant STEM program that is offered to all students. An outside pavilion has been added (thanks to a very generous East Lake PTO!) on the north side of the building offering the opportunity for an outside classroom experience.
Enrollment for the 2024-25 school year is currently at 851 students.
East Lake staff are excited to serve our new community of East Lake learners and develop long-lasting positive relationships with families. We will strive to provide high quality education for all of our students.
Every Learner Matters. Every Voice Counts.
